Location: California | I recently disassembled the engine in my 61 Windsor because it was not running well. What I found was that I had a bent push rod and two other push rods had also been replaced recently. In addition, the cam was discolored because the center cam bearing had shifted and the oiling hole was not clear.
The block is a 413 from 1965 and the heads are RB 383 head from 1961. So the questions is what is the difference in 383 vs 413 heads? Is it the exhaust valve size? |

Location: California | Well in doing a little more research I found the 413 heads have the same size exhaust valves but slightly larger intake valve( 2.08) than the RB 383 heads (1.98). So does this .14 inches in size make much of a difference? |

Location: NorCal | On a dynamometer the valve size would probably make a difference but you'll never noticed it in daily driving. |
