Texan appears to have power windows.
I believe that this car might be Charlie M's (tailfins's) 56 Dodge Coronet. If true, I just attempted to review the cowl tag for this car on the weekend. Charlie told me that it does have power front windows (manual rear windows). There is a possibility (until FCA Historical confirms (or denies)) that the car was a D500. I have not seen the IBM card for it but there a couple of codes on the cowl tag that were the same for a late build 56 D500 that also used the late 56 style Detroit cowl tag. The key code was 367 = Big Power Package. But again that is speculation until FCA provides the IBM card.
Texans typically came with 230 hp 4 bbl dual exhaust 315 polys but if this is Charlie's car it was built in/around June 20, 1956 well after the period that *ANY* 56 Dodge could be ordered with the 315 cu in Engine.

Location: California | Interesting. I didn’t realize you could order a car with front power windows and rear manual windows. What would be the point in that? It’s harder to reach in back and roll the rear windows down that it is to roll down the front ones. Or did I misunderstand and the front power windows were added by someone along the way and the rear stayed manual because they couldn’t find the setup to convert the rear windows? |

The 55/56 Detroit Dodge IBM cards include codes in for Glass and Window Lifts in Column 30 as follows:
301 = Solex tinted windows
302 = Power windows, front only
303 = Solex windows and power windows (front only) like 1 + 2 = 3!!
304 = Power windows front and rear
305 = Solex glass and Power windows front and rear (like 1 + 4 = 5!!) Scary. More actual logic.

I can't post the cowl tag photo. Charlie (tailfins) could.
In the meantime, I will tell you that the cowl tag is in the general form of the one below from a 56 Dodge D500 sedan that was on eBay some time ago.
The codes that Charlies had (besides the 813 body, 168 paint and 828 trim) were 29_, 308, 367, 382 and 597. This is what I thought of those:
"29_ = with the later 57 Dodges, 29_ = the transmission and I could guess that “Blank” the default transmission, i.e. the standard 3 spd but as you will see below, I have a cowl data tag from an August built 56 D500 Custom Royal Sedan that I know has a Powerflite (which should have yielded a “3” (333 on the 56 IBM card = Powerflite) but it also has 29_ so no help there
308 = ? 30_ on the IBM card = Glass and Window Lifts, i.e. whether the glass is tinted (or not) and whether the window lifts are manual or electric (in various combinations). As such the IBM cards go from 301 to 305. Nothing higher. Therefore 308 = ??
367 = Okay now we might be onto something. The August built 56 D500 Custom Royal Sedan also has 367 (and 597) on its cowl tag (see below). Furthermore, 367 on the IBM card is “Big Power Package”. On that basis, I have to make an “educated” guess that 367 = D500. Only FCA Historical could confirm this with the IBM card (the D500 engine number will be marked on the card).
382 = ? 38_ on the IBM card was “Wheel Equipment” , e.g. 383 = wheel trim rings, 386 = four bar spinner. I have no info on 382 but if you tell me that your car has 5 x 5.5 bolt circle (Chrysler estate wagon and Imperial) wheels we might have a new data point.
597 - Both the August built 56 D500 Custom Royal Sedan and your car have 597 but I have no clue what it means. The D500 sedan has no PS or PB and the seats and windows are all manual and there is no A/C."

Okay. See below.
On the IBM card (when you get it from Danielle Szostak), there should be a number in column 33 as in 331 = Standard, 332 = Overdrive, 333 = Powerflite. In 1957, the same design tag had the transmission under 29 as in 293 = Torqueflite (in 1957). Your tag does have a 2 but it is under 38 which on the 56 Detroit Dodge IBM cards is wheel info. You have the big brakes. Does the car have 6 or 7 leaf rear springs and 5.5 x 5 wheels?
Charlie's tag (for the Texan convertible):

Or maybe like this:
Tag Code 29_ = IBM Card Code 331 = Manual Transmission
Tag Code 308 = IBM Card Code 338 = Music master Radio ???
