Igor: Beautiful car but no "Custom" Badge = not a Custom.

Dave: «Custom» badge correct for ’55 Custom Royal Sedan only
’55 Custom Royal Lancer Hardtop and Convertible have «Royal Lancer» badges
’55 Royal Sedan and Royal Lancer Hardtop have «Royal» badges both
There is no nameplate «Lancer» in ’55 Royal Lancer Hardtop, single «Royal» only…

Igor: I do not want to argue with you, *BUT* how do you explain these?
(Note: The real answer could come down to some running change that before a certain date, there was no "Custom" badge and after, there was a "Custom" badge):

Location: Oregon, USA | It was a mid year change for '55. The early Custom Royal Lancers didn't have the badges. As "Collectable Automobile" Magazine reported in the late '80's they added the badges because of confusion by buyers. I've owned a non badged '55 CRL and a "badged" 55 CRL. Another interesting fact was the 4 door sedan Custom Royals were "Lancers" script and all. They were getting ready for the 56 4 door actual Lancer hardtops. Hope this helps.

Not saying that you are wrong but I have only seen the 55 Custom Royal sedans *without* any mention of "Lancer". Again, might have been a mid-year change to include "Lancer" (??)
