| 57 Dodge Suburban. The idler arm is bad and the left (I think) tie rod end on the drag link is hit. The end on the drag link is not removable. I don't know if you have to buy a whole drag link or of you send it somewhere and have a new end pressed in. Maybe it can be pressed in at home...again, I don't know. I haven't done any parts searching yet at the parts stores...that's usually a futile gesture. If anyone is aware of a good source for parts and has an answer on the drag link question, I'd be very grateful.
Thanks, Wayne |

Location: Newark, Texas (Fort Worth) | There are some nos drag links that come up on ebay. Kanter sells the Chinese crap. I think all the new ones are Chinese. There is a rebuild kit out there, moog I think. Inner tie rod ends: same thing, expensive or Chinese junk and you have to buy a pair most of the time. Outer tie rod ends are out there by moog and trw etc. Someone else sells a whole Chinese kit on epay, I wouldn't get it. |

Happy steering makes for a Happy 58 plymouth. Pretty cool bearing conversion made by TRW seems like the hot ticket for a worn out idler bushing. Part number 18564 TRW for anybody that wants to hunt down a kit. |

Location: Connecticut | Try Andy Bernbaum (oldmoparts.com). Pretty sure they can help you out, and you can view their catalog online. Another option is to have yours rebuilt. I believe Rare Parts in Stockton, CA, provides that service. They may also have the rebuilt parts in stock. Ron |
