| I have never been there before. Is there much in the way of FL parts or cars? I was thinking of going to sell some muscle and c body parts there. http://cpwclub.com/ |

Location: So. Cal | There's a little bit of forward look stuff, but not nearly as much as muscle car parts, of course. I think the problem is that there are more buyers of forwardlook parts than there are sellers. You should do well to sell your muscle car era parts there. |

Location: Arvada, Colorado (NW Denver Metro Area) |
It is a neat two-day event and will be there again this year with my 59 Plymouth convertible, but Like Powerflite (Nathan) said, very few FL parts but sometimes good leads on them if you ask some of the vendors. Last year the Pomona Swap meet was the same day and it took some vendors away from Spring Fling. But a great display of many Genre' of Mopar products there.

Location: So. Cal | I am thinking we should start a forwardlook meet & greet on the Friday evening before the show. Anyone interested in meeting up with fellow forwardlookers at a restaurant or other venue? There is a car show at Bob's Big Boy in Northridge that has more space and isn't as over-crowded as the one in Burbank. That might be a good place to meet up and see other cars as well. During the show is usually too busy most of the time with everything happening and multiple car clubs & friends wanting your attention. |

Location: So. Cal | I'll take the deafening lack of response as a definite no. Oh well, I'll be hanging out at the Northridge Big Boy anyway. At least I'll get to see some nice cars on my way home from work, Anyone planning to attend the fling? I'll be bringing the '58 Coronet, but probably just park it in front on the street. |

Location: So. Cal | We had a nice turnout of forwardlook cars at the show. It was great to hangout & get to know 59 Belvedere Conv (John) & Rickymopar for a while beforehand and see his nice '59 convertible at the show. Burnemup (Ernie) brought his 55 CRL and C-300 (Aaron) came with his really neat Fury-mite & a friend's '58 New Yorker wagon. I scored a bunch of great parts as usual too, including a 354 hemi motor. Here are some of the highlights from the show. I erased the phone numbers on the for sale signs. If you would like them, just send me a PM and I will give it to you. I don't know if either of them sold or not. Note that I mis-labeled the red Chrysler. It is a '52, not a '51.

Location: So. Cal | Wow Chuck, it's amazing you made it out of that Ambassador alive. Telephone poles usually win in a fight with one.
A lot of people want to meet up *at* the show, but the reality is that I (and most other people) have very little time at the show with the swap meet going and 40 other people who want to talk about old times with me. So meet ups at the show never happen except very quickly - or about the time that everyone is leaving. That's why I would like to start something either before or after the show. Before usually makes more sense. I had a great time shooting the breeze with John & his brother, and Rick from Colorado before the show. I didn't see them at all during the show (as expected), but I saw John's car of course. We'll try it again before fall fling and see how much participation there is. I would really like to start my own type of show that allows vehicles of all makes from a more restricted year range, like 1945 to 1961 and couple it with some fun activities (including optional camping in vintage trailers), but I haven't yet figured out what to do, and where to do it. I am thinking somewhere around Filmore or Camarillo might work. I go camping with a couple groups that have rigs that meet the qualifications so I would hope many of them would support it if I put it on.
There is a club in the SF valley, it is the CPW club that puts on the flings. They are pretty large, but I have never participated in the club itself. I'm not sure what they do outside of putting on the flings. There is also a large Mopar club in the Torrance and Riverside areas. |

thanks for the highlight pictures.
My highlights of your selection are the 300D EFI & the 58 NYer Wagon (wrong taillights...)
The picture with trailer queen daytona with hook on daytona are GREAT |

Location: So. Cal | Both of those Chryslers are owned by Per (works for Jay Leno). He had NOS Chrysler tail lights on it, but his wife backed the car into a wall and wrecked one. He ordered new ones from George in Australia, but I doubt he is going to get them since he had a stroke. In the meantime, he runs these Plymouth lights. I was really hoping to see Gary's '58 New Yorker convertible. But I may need to just pay him a visit to go see it. |

Location: So. Cal | Picked up some neat things from the fling. The 392 hemi motor blew out my budget, but I got a great deal on it. Surprisingly, the intake on this motor had the 300C/D specific vacuum fitting on it. You can see it to the right of the power steering pumps. It was nice to get another one. It was originally from a '57 Imperial. The trim is from a '57 New Yorker 4dr as well as a '57 Windsor.

Location: So. Cal | Fall fling was very lean this year. Not many buyers or sellers. Still, a lot of nice cars showed up. We sold off about $600 worth of stuff that we didn't want so that was nice, but didn't sell many of the other items I was hoping to get rid of. My wife sold almost as much of her stuff as I did of mine, including our daughter's old violin. Who would think you could sell a musical instrument or vintage glassware at an auto swap meet?
The highlight for me was that an old friend from the Barracuda Owner's Group had a 3rd rear seat for sale for my '70 Satellite wagon and gave me a great price on it! I have been using a 3rd seat in the car for many years, but it was from a '71. You could get it to work in the upward or downward position, but not both. Something changed in the hinge design, but it wasn't obvious how to fix it. Now I can finally replace it with the proper seat back there. |

I picked up a lot of parts for the '59 Sport Fury, including a set of quarter panel trim, tail lights, and a broken horn ring. I'm hoping to figure out how to muggy weld two broken ones together to create one good one. I already have a good one for my car, but it'll be fun to try it. The cop car wheels work well on our cars that use 15" hubcaps, so that the slots are hidden. Not sure which car will get these yet, but I pick them up when I can get them cheap. One seller made me a deal on the driveshafts: buy 1 get 5 free. So that's how I ended up with so many of them.

Location: So. Cal | Here are some highlights from the show. Per's 300D fuelie had some issues before the show, so he brought his '58 wagon instead. Not sure I agree with the bumper sticker on the Dodge wagon. The old Chrysler lead sled & modded out Gremlin were quite unusual to see. I'm not sure on the year of the Dodge truck, but that was the first vehicle I bought at age 14. I was going to put a 392 hemi into it, but got as far as tearing the truck apart before selling it off to purchase my '68 Barracuda instead. Typical, I guess.

I guess I should have read the poster in front of that lead sled. Turns out it is a very rare movie camera car made for Howard Hughes, originally a '47 Chrysler. Pretty cool. I had no idea from looking at it, but could tell it was heavily modified.

Location: So. Cal | Fall fling was this weekend. Most of the usual suspects showed up. There was a '59 Coronet there that I hadn't seen before, and Aaron brought his Firemite as well. The '49 4dr Coronet is a regular here and quite a sleeper with a supercharged 383 under the hood.
Timo also came to sell parts in the swap, so I purchased a bunch of '57-'58 Chrysler parts from him. I was happy to learn that he reproduces the large back window for '57-'59 in case I am unsuccessful at cleaning the windows on my gold New Yorker. This picture shows my loot.

Location: So. Cal | I believe his name is spelled Timo Tanskanen, but yes, the same guy. This was the first time he has come to this show, and he wasn't impressed with his profit margin. Except I sent Don from Oregon to purchase more parts from him, so that made him feel better about it. Carlo also came to the show and purchased parts.

Location: So. Cal | I took my '58 Fireflite to Spring Fling today. I was surprised at how many people liked it, even though it's obviously not show ready. I guess most people haven't really seen them around. On the display card, the last question is what special features the car has. I put "Rust" as it's special feature.

Location: So. Cal | I'm still fixing the rust under the windshield in my '70 Satellite wagon so I had to take my commuter truck (Hyundai Accent) to pick up all the parts at the show. I met with the guy that sold me the '60 Matador and he sold me the automatic swivel seat for it. I think this is the same seat that the car had in it when he first got the car. He also sold me a set of long ram air cleaners for it.
I really didn't expect to buy much of anything else at the show, because I don't really need any muscle car parts, but I was pleasantly surprised to find a lot of forwardlook parts there. In fact, other than the A-body lower control arms & b-body dash pad, everything I bought are forwardlook parts. I met 2 guys that were selling a lot of '56 Plymouth parts, and one of them sold me all the exterior, interior & other chrome trim from a 2dr Belvedere as a cheap package deal. I really needed the door panel trim & trunk emblem. The rest is a bonus. The '57 Plymouth gauges are actually from a '57 Dodge Mayfair (with DODGE and the forwardlook symbol at the bottom center) and the gauges almost look new and still have the green tint to them. The picture doesn't show them very well. The 4bbl Offy manifold is for a 241-270 Dodge, while the dual quad is for a 315-325 Dodge.
