Well, I ended up being the high bidder for this car last Saturday. Or actually I was the Best Offer winner of this FL Convert on Ebay. I have always wanted to pick up anothre 50's Mopar Convert and it happened! I am planning to head out Labor Day weekend to pick this one up in LaCrosse, WI, Originally an SoCal car in Coral and White, (I will return it to these colors) The interior is done already just a little floor patching and an media blasing an we should be able to get it in paint by next Spring. Pictures show the current state of it and another picture of an sister car of what it will look like when done.

Also, Picked up in the last month was Teresa Phillips 57 Chrysler Windsor Town & Country Wagon that I have been looking at for over 3 years to get. I pulled the trigger on this one not knowing that I would buy the 57 Dodge CRL Convert but we should all have this problem of having to many FL vehicles! Need to do floors in this Pink beauty! And upgrade the Powerplant to an 354 Hemi spec's from the Poly Head version it is now.

also picked up in the last month is this 57 Chrysler wagon from Teresa Phillips. It has Fred Flintstone floors in it but will get that fixed shortly, or at least in the next two months will weld in a new floor into it.

John Q.

Congrats on both cars. The T&C wagon must be very rare.

I thought the 57 Chrysler poly was a 392 but I was wrong = 354. Have fun!

Neat brochure! Yep, you can get the 354 in a two barrel, 4 barrel in the Poly head or the Hemi headed dual quad from what I can gather... But still learning all the Nuances of this power plant and its options.

Brought the 57 Dodge CRL convert back home to Colorado last weekend after an Marathon road trip starting Thursday at 6:30PM 2 1/2 day blitz thru Wyoming to Bismark, ND (parts pick-up Friday AM at 6:30) and then to Minneapolis (two parts pick-up locations) and then to LaCrosse, WI were Gary Johnson and I overnighted after rolling into town at 10 PM on Friday, Saturday morning saw us picking up the CRL Convert up at the storage facility it was at and then on the road again south to Iowa (one parts pick-up there) and finally on I-80 for the trip home to Denver. We got into Arvada at 3:30 AM Sunday morning. Things we do for a car and car parts.

The Dodge CRL Convert is still in my trailer out of the elements till space in the garage clears up in a week or two.

What in the Sam Hill is that '57 doing in my mobile storage unit?!?

Glad the trip was a success and you are home safe and sound. The '57 looks great! Is it just as you expected? better? worse?

It is exactly what I thought it would be! Milt and Paul were great to work with on this deal. And thanks to Gary Johnson for going with me on this whirlwind trip to fetch it. Glad to have it home and hope to get it out of "Mikes Mobile Storage' space sooner then later. What to get her stripped down a bit more for blasting...

Starting the disassembly of the CRL (still in my car trailer for now) with taking the hood off and then the front bumpers and the front clip so I can take them to Blast Tech for media blasting. And then get them into epoxy Primer so they don't flash rust. I will take the rest of the car down for a 'Blast" in November weather permitting and then get that into Epoxy primer too. Slowly accumulating the missing trim and actually getting some duplicates so I can choose which ones to be worked on to de-ding them.

Just an FYI for those who wondered what is the latest on this project.
Kinda neat to bring the trailer home, work on it and then keep it nice an dry in the trailer. Also, a learning curve about these 57-59 Dodges and the options involved. A lot more to deal with than my 59 Plymouth was. that was pretty easy to learn. Still spending a lot of time on eBay and this FL site for parts cars and sources of parts. Everyone has been very easy to deal with during my learning curve time frame.

That's great, John! I can't wait to see this car! It sounds like you are going mach speed on the restoration - good for you. I need to follow in your footsteps on my '58.

Mike, Mostly transonic on this one but should be moving forward a bit more, At least the interior is done already from the previous owners. I will work on getting the 325 awake from its slumber once the gas tank is drained and fresher fuel introduced into the system. Change the Oil etc. Hopefully, the radiator won't leak when it gets pressurized. If the weather holds then should be more progress on it. I need to get the Dodge and the Plymouths positions switched out so I can have the Dodge in the garage. The Cuda is still on the lift so it will have to be in the lower spot on the ground which is fine.

Taking stock of the side trim and getting that out for the winter to "Angel" the SS trim guy for his winter's work of de-dinging and be ready in the spring for me. Just breaking it down into smaller tasks so the bigger project goal is accomplished.

You may want to check out Jose at Mile High Polishing (see local vendor thread). It might be interesting to see how his prices compare with Angel's.

Mike, Angel did my 59's converts trim and it was expensive ($1200) so I will see how Jose's timeline will do to have it ready by springtime. Angel did a good job for me. Have you used Jose before?

Yes! He pounded out some dents and polished the under-the-trunk stainless trim on the 1958. It turned out great and I think his prices are good too.

Although, that work is expensive! If Angel did the whole set of 1959 trim for $1200, that might be a pretty good deal.

Hi, John:

I don't know if your car came with a set of these...

Vans makes a set of reproductions at a very reasonable price.
