Location: Morgan Hill, CA | I'm getting ready to do the interior of my 57 Fireflite convertible and I'd like to get as close to original as possible. Does anybody have pictures of the interior of a 57 convertible interior? Doesn't really have to be green but I'd like to see the patterns and layout of an original interior.
Mine has been redone and I have no idea of knowing the way it really should be. I'll be getting the fabrics from SMS. Have dealt with them before....already have the correct carpet in there. I think the ram for the convertible top sprung a leak at some point. There is some kind of greasy fluid that keeps seeping up through the vinyl so I need to get going on this.

Location: Lower Mainland BC | I am guessing that the seat pattern was a function of FireFlite vs FireDome. With the exception of the vinyl insert (instead of cloth), I think what you have is probably very close for a FireFlite.

Location: Hayward, Calif | That's a pretty nice looking interior!! Even if it isn't exactly correct, Is it really worth having it done over again ???? Upholstery is expensive and only a 'purist' would know. 99.9% of the people who would look at the car wouldn't have a clue. IMO, save the expense and spend the money on a nice road trip !!! Jerry |

Jerry, you're just up the street from me....I'm in Morgan Hill. Stop by if you're ever in the neighborhood.
I'm one of those purists and really it's just that I don't like the colors. I do like the replacement colors alot though.....but it will be a lot of work. The lighter green will be a much better match to the painted dash and glovebox color. The other deciding factor is that ATF that I can't get off the rear seat.

Location: Hayward, Calif | A day trip sounds like a good idea! I usually don't get any further south than San Jose for the Mopar Alley show. The wife will be back from Brazil next month so will see what we can coordinate. I haven't been in the Morgan Hill area in probably 40 yrs. Jerry |

| I would just swap out the centers of the vinyl for some silvered pattern from SMS.
That 1 inch heat pleated vinyl is readily available at many boat places.

Location: Morgan Hill, CA | So far this is all I have found. Not 642 but gives me an idea of what the piping and shapes are. I need door panel pictures too if anyone has them. The seat picture below has that embossed area that looks neat. Need a close up of that if anyone has one for any color interior.
Compared to my seats the inserts are a different shape. Looks like they need to be wider at the bottom than the top and mine are symmetrical. I can never seem to find pictures of the backs of seats so don't know if they have contrasting piping.

Location: New Castle PA | Doug, just so you know, in your pictures labeled 296.jpg and 298.jpg, the cloth is sewn in in the wrong direction. What I call "scissors" should be sideways.

Location: Morgan Hill, CA | Does anyone know if the front and rear seats had the embossed crest? The dealer brochures seem to have it.

Based on the photos of the rear seats in this thread (that all have embossed crests) and this brochure illustration, I would say "Yes" (probably)

Location: New Castle PA | For sure Adventurers had the embossed design. Here's a pic of my car's, absolutely original material in the rear seat. All I did was repaint the vinyl. Front seats needed new material.

Location: Morgan Hill, CA | I went up and saw John at Big M this weekend. I should have done that a long time ago. I found a couple of cars with green interiors. One was trim 515 from a Firesweep and the other was from an Fireflite The green colors were a match between the two cars even though the trim codes were different. Based on that I think I know what the greens should look like on my car.
Looks like most if not all the greens were the same shade between the different codes in 57. I have some samples that I got from the car's at John''s that I'll post as soon a s I clean them up a bit
