Location: Seven Valleys, PA | I had my engine rebuilt by a machine shop, and upon return, the exhaust manifold studs on each end of the heads have fine threads exposed, but the newer-appearing middle studs are coarse thread. I was going to replace them with studs that all have matching threads, but I know that some (all?) of them penetrate a water passage and I don't want to risk leaks. Can anyone tell me which ones to pay special attention to (use sealer, teflon, etc). some online sources say just the end ones, others say the middle ones do too...but those are all related to newer engines, 440, etc. Thanks! |
