The Newport name was used as a description of hardtop models up until 1956, similar to the way Dodge hardtops are called Lancers. But they dropped the name in '57 and brought it back in 1961 as a separate lowest-cost model. So no, a '58 Windsor sedan has nothing whatsoever to do with the Newport name - except for it's association with being the lowest cost Chrysler available for that year, built on a smaller wheelbase chassis.

I saw this cars maybe 10+ years ago sitting in field at Rustic Auto Parts in Peru NY (just S of Plattsburgh) when I lived around there. And yes it's a Windsor.
