My 56 Chrysler have 4 of these in the doors. One in each door. I didn't remove them, the body shop did. They can't help in where they go. My shop book doesn't help. Help!!

Guess only, but I think they are used to hold the rubber seal in place.

Gary is right, these were originally molded into the weatherstripping, and held it in place.

Yup. And it worked.

What your photo shows is the wire that is used to hold the bottom door gasket to the door (not just glue)
