This has always been a good show that has been going on since 1982. It always has a good mix of cars -- classics (i.e., a '28 Bentley, Cords, Packards, Doosies, etc.), rods, muscle cars, sports cars (Kaiser Darrins, Lambos, etc.), cruisers, pickups, customs, etc., etc, etc. In fact, in 2000, they had what they called "The Circle of the Century," an exhibition consisting of one car representing every year from 1900 to 2000 around the track of the football field. Unfortunately, there was one exception: the '46 Ford "Woody" chosen for 1946 (obviously) broke down on the way and didn't make it, but there were electrics, steamers, and a few true "horseless carriages" from the pre-WWI days. They were just there on display, with no judging or voting, for people to admire. I didn't have the Big-Tailed Beast there, but my 375 HP/327 CID fuelie Vette was the 1965 car. Anyhow, it's a great show and I'm glad to see it continue. A bonus is that the next day (Sunday, May 20) there will be another show in nearby Florence and it looks like Dennis Gage of "My Classic Car" will poke his handlebar in. Joe |
