I'm sure this has been asked/discussed before but I searched using a few parameters and came up with nothing that answered my question.
And I'm also sure that many will consider this blasphemy (on both sides) but I'm curious.
I was under the impression that the Desoto and Chrysler sheetmetal, especially at the rear of the cars, was pretty similar. I wondered if the Chrysler and Desoto taillights might interchange, so I started looking at pictures of them. I already knew that the taillight lenses were different not just is the ribs, but the overall shape as the Desoto taillight has a more vertical profile and leaves a large portion of the bezel exposed at the bottom, while the Chrysler taillight is a true boomerang and fills the entire bezel.
But once I started really comparing them it appears as if the bezels might actually be a different shape altogether, and possibly require a different shape or opening at the end of the fin. But then again, it might also be that the sheet metal IS the same, and the two bezels simple overlap the steel panels differently.
Does anyone actually know? I have to believe someone has tried this in the past . . .

:)
Oops, sorry. Yes, 1960.
And thank you 1960 Fury. I'm toying with a slight custom lighting idea and given the shape of the lights, and relative scarcity of the Desoto parts, I was thinking the Chrysler lights might be a better choice to modify.
That being said, does anyone have a decent "driver quality" set they might be willing to part with?
