Yeah - we know, it was just a pun. In fact for the brief production of '61 models, only 2 and 4 door hardtops were offered - not even a sedan! Kinda strange but that's the way it was. Now you know the rest of the story to the end.

| I can only surmise that the 1960 Fireflite has been sold and is in the process of being flipped.
Hemmings - $23,000
Latest Listing - $27,995
You would think they would at least take new photos of the car to avoid having New Jersey plates all over it even though the dealer appears to be in Michigan

Location: Parts Unknown | They are too busy extending the wheelbase to 126" to
change the plates.

Location: Northern New Jersey | This is my Desoto for sale. When I decided to sell it, last Fall, it went on Craigslist. I was immediatley contacted by this consignment company. They gave me the usual pap about how then can sell the car quickly, and at no cost to me. Never heard back from them. My asking price was alway $23500, so their price was their markup.
Craigs list was a bust. Mostly calls from lowballers, tire kickers and escaped mental patients, leading me to the conclusion that Hemming was the best place for Forwardlook People to see my car, especially out European friends.
The wheelbase is 122 inches. The full sized Chryslers, which have identical looks, has a 126 inch wheelbase.
If anyone has any questions of need more photos, please contact me. |
