| Will a 1955 dodge standard (with OD)transmission with bell housing out of a v8 car bolt right up to a 1959 325 truck hemi?
What is a good price on that OD tranny? I know that R-10 out of 6cyl cars are desirable to the earlier car guys but the input shaft is longer for the v8 cars. I have looked through the threads an haven't found much on the FL vehicles and overdrive transmissions. I have had the hemi for 20 years and am just getting around to finding the trans. I have an opportunity to buy the Whole set-up with the electronics and bell housing...just want to make sure it is a fairly easy project.
Thanks Rob |

Location: Muskego, WI | Are you sure it's a 325 cubic inch? I believe in 1959 Dodge trucks could be had with one of two possible Hemi engine displacements; 315 or 354. The 315 was a Dodge Hemi while the 354 was basically a Chrysler Hemi. If the three speed was behind a 1955 Dodge Hemi and you have either a 325 Dodge car Hemi or 315 Truck Hemi I believe you are good to go. Not sure about the 354 Truck Hemi though, would probably bold up but might require difference spacing? |

Location: Peoples Republic of Oregon | Just as a reminder....all of the EarlyHemi, Poly, and A series, up through 1961, share the same bell housing bolt pattern as well as crank flange. The exception is the 51-53 Chrysler 331Hemi. There is no difference in truck-marine-industrial engines. |
