Location: Tasmania, Australia | Hi all, was just googling pics of 1961 Plymouths and came across an Aussie car which I have never seen before.
How nice does this car look, would love to see it in the flesh one day. The black just looks so classy, I have a real love for this model.
RHD too, so Im guessing its an Aussie assembled car.
Just thought I would share cause I love it so much.

Location: Sydney, Australia | That is simply gorgeous. I like the 61 as well, especially the whole rear. Victoria would have to be the Plymouth capital of Australia.

Location: Tasmania, Australia | I would even consider selling my 59 DCR to get my hands on one of these babies, this one would be perfect. |

59 dodge has an angry face, the 61 has a face that has to grow on you, as for the tail, dodge wins hands down

Location: Fredrikstad, Norway. (Europe) | All I need is the front clip. Of which I have been searching for as long as I can remember. Hello to all of you "down under" from me here on "the top"
I'll try to post a pic on my 1961 Belvedere Limosine. This car was owned by a really old man, and I helped him to a total restorasion on this car. Engine, body and interior. When he got to old to drive it, he sold i to me and my girlfriend at the time. After a year or so, when my gf broke up, I had to sell it to pay back the mony she invested in it. Today it's just a wreck, being run down by what we cal "raggare" (se Swedish explanation on Scandinavian region). Most of my pictres are "slides", so since I have no slides scanner scanner, I'm just not able to post the best pics of it.

Location: Fredrikstad, Norway. (Europe) | Here is a pic of another one, a 4 door sedan Savoy. And a 2 door post with all the Fury mouldings and other parts that I had to let go for "pins & buttons" when I lost my storage space and workshop.

Hahaha Mick, I probably would get a slappin by a few people.
Maybe I should just extend the garage to make room for one of these as well, the 61 face grew on me a long time ago. I've always had a fascination of this model, it's a bit unloved and not that attractive which is why I like it so much I think. |

Location: Tasmania, Australia | Well you have a beautiful 61 that's for sure, I'm a real fan of black cars. Nice history on the car too, allot of sentimental value too. |

Location: North Australia | It is a nice car.
Is it a US Fury converted to RHD, or an Australian Delivered Belvedere converted into a Fury, or an Australian delivered Fury?
Steve.

Location: Melbourne, Australia | It is a Canadian built factory RHD Plymouth Fury, built for the British Commonwealth market, was originally shipped to Boston MA where it was presented to an Indian Catholic Bishop (a very good friend of my grandparents) on completeing studies in the USA, was the shipped to India where it served its early years as the Bishops personal transport, My father new first saw the car in '61 when it arrived, the bishop promised my dad he would one day own the Fury when he was finished with it... fast forward a few years my grand parents went to to visit India, where my grand dad caught up with the bishop who now retired was keen for my father to purchase the car and import to Aus..which he did, mid 1980's, for me i have never seen another factory rhd Fury in Aus was originally a 3 on the tree stick shift ( I converted to factory push butto juke box auto set up due to lack of 3 speed man parts avail in the pre internet days) 313ci Canadian polyV8, non pwr steer, no heater, so definitly a bit of a rare beast..I have owned her and wrenched on her now pretty much my whole life... like i said been in the family and hopefully staysin my family for ever... Here is how she looks today!

Location: Sydney, Australia | Chris, I bet that old girl turns some heads. You have a good story behind it as well..
Are they secondary mirrors or spotlights? Factory?
