Location: Hayward, Calif | Hey Guys, Went back to DMV this AM. Couldn't use old black/yellow letters/numbers plates because they were for 1963 and can't put them on a 59. But, DMV does offer the same color combination plate with whatever letters and numbers you want on it. $50 extra per yr. Have to wait 8 - 12 weeks for it to be made. So we opt'd to do that. But have to go back to DMV to pick them up. It all worked out, but was a bit aggravating. Jerry |

Location: Vacaville,Ca or Harbor springs,Mi | What you tried to do was a YOM plate, year of manufacture. Otherwise you needed a black on yellow plate. |
