| Converting 55 Plymouth 6V system to 12V; used a voltadrop for the blower motor and windshield wipers that works fine. The fuel and temp gauges do not work correctly with voltadrop or without. Tried an IVR from a 1962 dash to reduce voltage and both the temp and gas gauge pulsate. It is my understanding that a 56 Plymouth has a 12V system. Is there an IVR or something similar in a 56 that converts the 12 to reduce voltage for the gauges? According to my manual the wiring diagram does not show any IVR(?) in the system. Would 56 temp and fuel gauge work in my application or is there some way to make my gauges work without pulsating. Thanks, Dave | |

Location: Ponder, TX | I swapped '56 for '55 gauges and they worked fine. I also swapped motors since I owned the donor car, so it was a simple task. It was a long time ago, so I don't recall what other changes had to be made, but a friend and I did everything in less than a day. | |

| Thank you, was thinking that might work. Will see if I can find 56 gauges. Dave | |
