Location: Malung, SWEDEN | The Coronet is owned by a good friend. It is available for viewing in Modesto, CA. It´s not perfect in any way but it is the best untouched Forward Look convertible I've ever seen, and I have seen many! A lot of money, yes. But try to find a better one ... To restore will cost, as we all know, much more... Something for the hardcore Forward Look guy! You can´t go wrong with this one! http://www.forwardlook.net/forums/forums/thread-view.asp?tid=60949&posts=12&start=1

Location: Fleetwood, Pa | So, why is it for sale already when he only bought it recently?? It's gotta make anyone else who may be interested in it now, scratch his head and think, ok, so what did he find that's wrong with it that he doesn't want it now???
Or is it just me who would be thinking that???

Location: Malung, SWEDEN | Robert! There is nothing wrong or hidden with this Dodge! The seller has owned it for several years, I saw it first time 2014, I have inspected and driven it again at a visit in 2015, it´s in very nice unmessed condition. The seller is a great guy, very straightforward to do business with. He is not a computerguy and want to cut down because of private reasons. I wanted the car to find a new owner here in Sweden, therefore, I put it on the ad here! As you all can guess has every interest to date came from Sweden and Finland.... The car came orignaly from Bunker Hill in Florida to Modesto, CA. You who are seriously interested and want to check the car in person in Modesto can send me a PM for contact information.

Location: NY & VT | Why in the world would anyone want to restore this car?? I'd only put the stock wheels and spinner caps back on it instead of the cliche wire wheels and make sure it ran well and was safe, otherwise leave it the he!! alone!!! |

| Not a very good description of the car, not a lot of pictures. Could be the reason it's still for sale. |

Of course there are a lot of pictures for anyone who really are willing to buy.
The interest so far seems to be entirely outside of the United States. Not Surprising!

| I hate wasting time when looking at a car. If someone really wants to sell a car, they provide lots of pictures and description. I hate running down information. Is the information a secret? Why not post pictures if you have them? Why add in the extra step when it's not needed? I don't have an unrestored car in my collection and would consider it. Sadly, I have no idea what is actually original on this car, as people claim "original" then turns out half the car has been modded or repainted. |

Location: Malung, SWEDEN | Mike I agree with you. I'm the same when I search for cars.
However when I sell I want to find some potential buyers to work with.
I do not want to smear images and information all over the internet so that it is on all more or less reputable pages beyond my control.
Security, you know.
Actually, it's not easy to sit in another country, speak poor English and try to sell a car you do not own. But I do my best.
The Dodge is probably the best unrestored Coronet available on your continent guys! |

Security, you know. Don't understand this at all. If you're selling something, you need to display enough photos to help people make an informed decision. Otherwise, you're wasting your time. If you're concerned about someone stealing your photos, then watermark them with your name across the center. Not a security issue. Ron |

By the same token if a buyer is SERIOUSLY interested he will contact the seller and ask the RIGHT questions then the seller will realize he is not wasting his time with a photo collector. It takes both seller and buyer to put in some effort to work the deal. I know some of the cars I've bought in the past I've put considerable work into running down the information from the seller, previous owners, experts on the paticular model etc. And when the deal comes off it makes it even more satisfying.....much more so than having everything delivered to you on a silver plate.

Location: Ontario, Canada | Roger, I agree! If the car was THAT original and good, it would never have been listed here. It would have been sold PRIVATELY ages ago!!! To me, when such a car is publically offered for sale, red flags go up! I had the opportunity to buy and restore a few rare, big buck cars. Every one was sold, out of my shop, months before they they were completed and before I had any intention of EVEN selling them!! That's how the Mopar game seems to work!
I also agree with Ron. Post a few more pics. Need some of the VIN and Body Plate for that kind of money! I know Neil isn't here but he and I decoded these cars together many years before there was an Internet!! My notes are complete. This site has real resources!! Give us the complete dope and we will separate the men from the boys!

Neil decoded this car for me in 2014, it is ok. In the end we find out who is man.
It is of course the new owner! Otherwise, I agree with Greg, this car should have been sold already.

He's a seller looking for a buyer. You get the most potential buyers, by having as much information available as possible. Business 101. I love the fact something is handed to someone on a silver plate just because they didn't spend days digging on info. Instead of digging for days, I'm doing the work I do so I can afford such cars. The security thing makes no sense. I've sold a dozen cars in the past few years. I take at least 30-40 pictures of every cars, regardless if it is a 10k or 50k or 100k dollar car. Pictures can lie, but so do sellers. I'd rather have the time to look through all the pictures when my schedule allows, make a list of questions and then call the seller. Calling the seller, just to get the pictures, so I can call back again later for follow ups is a waste of time. No big deal, but if people wonder why a car might still be for sale, this simple avoidable issue, is likely the #1 reason. |

Location: NY & VT | The "security issue" is a red herring. A seller should put lots of pics out there if you want to get a car sold, and watermark 'em if they're paranoid.
Anyone who wants and can afford a nice original, which this might be and to me is far better than restored, should be all over it.
Why else is this car not sold long ago? past sales show there's enough people out there with the wherewithall to do a deal. |

Location: New Jersey | Magnus---The '57 Dodge is beautiful and you selling the car for someone in another country, actually it's called the United States of America, is laudable. But here's a good story for you. When I was a kid and moved to this country we lived very comfortably in a huge brownstone in Brooklyn, New York. Three Italian families, all related, with about 12 children rattling off everything we learned in school like machine guns. It was all good. But once we walked down the stoop to the street, even in our neighborhood, if we didn't speak English, we would get the lecture of respecting the country you were living in. Italian inside----English outside. And even though this country doesn't have an 'official' language--we are a melting pot and love the differences--English is the language of the day. I sure would've liked to know what your's and Joakim's conversation was about the Dodge convertible. I think both of you speak English fairly well. So, a bit of affectionate advice, especially if you want more Americans to consider the car----Swedish inside--English outside.---Fred |

| I love the Europeans on the site. My next purchases will likely come from there as they tend to restore cars to a significantly higher standard than american shops. I'm continually amazed at the level of work and dedication they put in. |

| Yes, I've heard about that 300C. At this point, I'm only buying restored cars. We have 4 cars to finish which will take till end of next year. I have a great 62 imperial convertible that we want to do after that. I'm also running out of room, so I have to be realistic about what I can add. There is a convertible car I'm keeping my eyes on that hasn't dipped low enough. But I have zero plans to add anything rest of year. |
