| Converting my 55 Plymouth from automatic to stick shift and putting in the pedals and clutch linkage. I am missing the "C" shaped piece from the pedal assembly. Does anyone have a picture of that piece and its dimensions so that I can fabricate one. It is the piece that is attached to the spring. Any help is much appreciated. Thanks, Dave |

Here's the diagram, worst comes to worst you might be able to scale the part using the known part dimensions.

| I may be wrong, but I'm pretty sure "the C" piece is the same for all '55-59 stick cars, so a junk yard ebay etc may be a good bet as they should not be that hard to find.....

Location: Alaska | I could measure mine and give you the dimensions. If you are going to use a diaphragm style pressure plate it is a good idea to disconnect that spring anyway because on a high RPM shift the clutch pedal could stick to the floor. It is only needed if you use the original style Borg&Beck. |

| Yes, I am going to use a high performance clutch (not original), will I need some type of return spring on the clutch pedal. This will be a 318 poly with 2-4's and an A833 4 speed. Appreciate any info you can give me. Fabricating the set up at this time. Thanks, Dave |

Location: Alaska | Yes, you will need to add a light return spring with the diaphragm pressure plate. I am also going to run an A833 4 sp. in my 58 Plymouth but not decided yet which style of clutch to use. Years ago I used the 11" HD clutch in my Furys and sure needed the over center spring to help pull it down. |

Location: So. Cal | I swapped a diaphragm pressure plate into my '68 Barracuda and the pedal just sticks to the floor even at idle. The solution was to remove the spring altogether. So you might want to try it out before you go to all the trouble of making that "C" bracket. |

| I put an original factory type clutch in my '67 Barracuda, coupla hundred bucks from Rock Auto drives beautifully. I much prefer it over the more expensive expensive aftermarket unit in my '57 300C.

Location: Alaska | The "C" shaped part is a little complex to make, it has an oval hole on one end and the other end is bent so the hole is parallel to the part. I will try to post a pic or two but i need a good program to resize my pics.
