Location: Denver | Hello, I am restoring a 1962 Ghia L 6.4 coupe, an Italian-bodied car with many Mopar parts including a bubbletop windshield. We are missing the lower windshield trim mounting clips. Pictures of the trim and the slot where the clips presumably go are attached. Can someone help me identify the kind of clips I am looking for, and possibly a source for the same? Thanks! John

| Are you still looking for a photo of the moulding clip- let me know and I will shoot a picture and post it ?
The part may be available to Restoration Specialties Inc. - I will look it up online in their catalog-

| hope these pictures show up.
These clips appear to be available from Restoration Specialties, Inc
part number #3731
reference 6000685

The above parts number came from their 2011 Catalog- I cannot find them in their newest catalog- and the part number doesn't come up in a search of the website- you may wish to give them a call and ask about the old catalog numbers
Hope this helps

Location: Jamaica Plain, MA | I believe the cowl on that fantastic car is the same on the 60-62 Chrysler lines across the board, excluding Imperials, and the 62 Plymouths and smaller Dodges-- therefore they are not uncommon. If you can't find new ones, they were galvanized or cadmium coated pieces, that screwed to the cowl and clipped to the stainless. I'd say if you can't find new ones, you can probably find some to recycle from a the thousands of parts cars that died in dry locations. It's a little odd to put used clips on such a valuable car... (I think there are less than 20 of those cars in the world???). The ones on my 300 are kind of crunchy, so I'd also like to know if new ones are still on hand, somewhere. Side note, in case you aren't aware, new door handles are being made for the same applications. I think they are like $125 each and you can easily swap the original lock cylinders into the new handles.
BTW, is this the same car?

Location: Denver | Thanks. My car is not one of the ones pictured, but it is the same model. There were 26 made and reportedly 17 accounted for. I'll work on the salvage yards for used clips. No luck yet finding a reproduction. Best, John |

Location: Jamaica Plain, MA | Congrats on the car. It's a gem. And you won't have trouble finding some used clips. The dealer folks on here are mostly going to Carlisle this weekend, so I'd hit John Fowlie and/or the other sellers next week. |
