How rare is speed warning in a 1958 Dodge? I've only seen it in pictures once, and know only a couple cars with it. It doesn't seem to be a popular accessory for that year.

darn rare, I think. I believe it was a late year option that transferred to the 1959 model.

I've never seen one in person and I have been looking at Forward Look cars since the beginning. A Speed Warning device that does nothing except blink a red light at the driver if he exceeds the speed set for it (and maybe buzzes) isn't a desireable option in my opinion. Give me a cruise control that I can set for a certain speed and once it reaches that speed, will never exceed it (unless I press down on the accelerator pedal). That is a more useful acccessory. Keeps one from attracting unwanted law enforcement (revenue generating) attention.
