I have a 1959 Dodge Coronet with push button transmission.. it is completely locking up when in drive -- it will only reverse. The front wheels don't move at all when in drive.
Any clues as to what may be causing this?

Do you mean the engine just races and no attempt to move even in low if so the forward clutch has failed, trans has to come out. Why would you expect the ft wheels move? Just read your post in brakes, differnt explanation, jack it up and see if the brakes are locked, just basics here.

Read replies in your Brake Thread .... http://forwardlook.net/forums/forums/thread-view.asp?tid=55118&post... ,, as it is Front brakes locking, it is NOT a transmission problem..

So why post it here and state what seems to be trans related?
