I have completed the new interior, Burgandy velour on the seats, black carpet, and black door panels with African rosewood (Bubinga) kick panels, arm rests, Bubinga door handles and switch panels. She goes to the paint shop for a chrome off paint job in two weeks and she will be ready for the road and pictures. I still need to get the A/C fixed, but at least I can drive her.
Last week I was in the hospital for surgery, which thank the Lord was not cancerous, but I'm down to one kidney and one less growth in my stomach.
As soon as I can I will post pictures of the Interior and exterior. The wood trim really sets her up to shine! |

that surgery was performed?

He gave me the option of opening me up and do a biopsy or, since it was a pretty good size tumor to go on the safe side and take the kidney out,,,I elected to go with the safest option and take it out. The one in my stomach was blocking the passage to my intestines, so it had to go.
On the Imperial. She was to go to the transmission shop Tuesday to have the shifting adjusted. She decided to not start and run for more than 5 seconds. I tried to work on her, but laying on a fresh incision was too painful. So, I have a mechanic coming Saturday to fix her. I am sure she will be ready for the car show in Pulaski this September. |

It looked like the bottom of a pond inside. On a cheery note I got my taillights and brow emblems from
George Laurie today. They are a work of art...absolutely flawless in every respect. If you are doing a car up to look good,George is the place to go for lenses. |

I finally got the A/C in the Imperial working. I had fretted over finding a Sanden compressor and mount with no luck. The most rational decision was to have the original factory compressor remanufactured and go from there. I found out that a compressor of that vintage would not hold up to R134, that it would burn it up. Next problem was R12 Freon. I found a nice new 30 lb jug of R12 on ebay, and I have a friend with a refrigeration license, so I bought it legally. Yesterday he came over and we installed the new compressor and hoses. I didn't replace the accumulator which is recommended, because the new one I bought had the wrong hose fitting on it. So far it feels like a meat locker and is holding pressure. Now I just have to find an accumulator with the right fillings. Paint job is next!!! |
