What could happen (to it)?
Whether or not Steph gets Comp coverage on this ride...for the rest of you: after you buy a car that is going to be delivered
to you, by any means/manner, please get it insured with Comprehensive all-risk coverage, to protect your monetary investment
in that ride.

A real set of wide whites and she will look good!
Around the 60-61 era, would wide whites actually be correct?
I would have tought that they might have moved onto the skinny whites around that time?
It does look good Stef, I am sure you will enjoy it and spend the next few days (once its home) cleaning it and staring at it

The narrow, (1inch), whites debued on production cars in 1962. I believe the 61's were equipped with A 2" wide white as an option. |

The grille guard adds nothing to the front end's appearance (it breaks up the grille's "waterfall" effect), but, it IS an
'optional' item, to add onto the car.

It was in a tread here on FL, 61 Dodge was 14th, shows how my taste goes, got rid of a 61 Dodge to move up the ugly list to 13th, and that's as far as I'm going.

Location: bishop, ca | Steph, I don't know hardly nuthin about the 61 PLY, but how did you learn that that expensive Aero wheel came standard with the
power steering option?
It would seem to me that having to add the cost of that steering wheel (anybody know its OEM price??) to the cost of the P/S option would
really raise the total-cost of the P/S system option.
Not everybody liked or wanted that 'square' wheel in their car....most magazines didn't love it, and their opinions shaped the desires
of their readers.

The Aero Wheel (square type) was optional only on power steering cars.
For non PS cars a "Deluxe wheel" could be ordered. Which was the round type aero wheel. All cars came standard with the regular non Aero type wheels. |

i would expect the 61 aero wheels to be close to the cost of one for 1960 . which was a factory retail price of 14.25$ ------------------------------------later |

"I have attached a build card order form. The fee for this service is $45.00, payable in check order to FCA US LLC. If a check is too difficult to get, a cash payment is acceptable. This would need to be mailed with your order. We also require proof of ownership. A photocopy of the title or registration is acceptable and must show your name and the correct VIN. Everything can be mailed to the address listed on the order form.
We are actually shutting down our build record service from July 1st – November 1st. You may want to mail in your order, if you would like it quickly. Anything received after July 1st will be returned at this time. If you have any questions, please let me know.

Location: Minor Hill, TN | I am just looking back when I got my 2nd '61 fury., the delivery and the arrival. It never hurts to go back and look . I know the car will get done I am not going to let anything get in the way. I hope to have it back on the road by next spring or summer the latest. I still do my monthly start ups and move the car little forward and then back.
My dad is the 1 who introduced me to this car when he got my previous 1 and guess who he volunteered to give the car its 1st bath . Like I said I am just looking back . I will say its really sad not very many survived . I wonder if any one here rescued 1 from an auto grave yard .
I am smiling and looking back . I hope someday at a mopar show I will have my '61 parked next to another '61. It will not matter to me who gets 1st place but if its a tie I will let the owner of the other '61 take the trophy home. |
