Location: Småland Sweden | Anyone heard of a junk yard south of Stockton? Got a tip from a friend at home. Am here for the Turlock Swap Meet and will continue my trip to Big M.

Location: Hayward, Calif | There was a pick&pull East/south/east of Stockton. Been a few yrs since I've been there. There was also a 50's junk yard also ESE of Stockton, headed into the foothills. Don't remember the name anymore, maybe somewhere around Mariposa. It was a little bit of a town and the yard was south of town. Lot of trees and cars everywhere. that was 35 yrs ago, but do remember a lot of cars and trees. Hope someone has the time to scout out that area and see if it can be found again. Jerry |

Jerry, you're thinking of Pearson's auto wrecking. They were on Hi-way 49 just north of Mariposa. Everything is gone now.

Location: Connecticut | I went to Pearson's about 20 years ago. Pulled a beautiful pair of blue 58 Plymouth rust free fenders from a car that had been sitting outside since 1964. Unbelievable ! Also spent an entire morning photographing the yard. Also remember spending an entire morning at the yard boxing them up for UPS, since he, understandably, wouldn't provide that service. Reasonable prices. Grumpy owner. Ron |

Location: Williams California | A.G. Pearson, the long time owner, had a stroke close to 20 years ago, while driving on Hwy. 49. His car went off a steep cliff when he lost control. The yard was closed for years, then his daughter tried selling cars, but after making the five hour trip [each way] she seemed drunk and couldn't remember which thirteen cars I was to buy. I'd even made her a map of where the cars were on the property so she could look at them and give me a price, but she never did, and everything went to the crusher.
