| My local Napa didn't have a listing for the "extension housing" seal (seal that fits in end of tranny, seals against the parking brake drum inner hub) so I took measurements and came up with this one which fits perfectly: Napa part # 15629. This seal is ONLY for trannys that use the parking brake, newer styles use #12049.
Also, if you need a rear u-joint ----I couldn't fit an exact match of the rear u-joint from my '62 Chrysler (same joint for almost all '57 up Forward looks except some '57's that use the cups style with "ears" )
I was comparing the distance of the outside of the cups, from the original to the one Napa listed for that application, and thought it was wrong because the old one is narrower...but finally realized the outside measurement is irrelevant when the u joint uses all four internal snap rings...it's only the distance between those rings that matters, (and it's the same) and it's the same u-joint up until at least the mid-'80's Chrysler full size cars like 5th Avenues, etc, for the rear and usually front as well. Napa (Precision) part # 246. |

| Want to add, the seal is SKF brand. |

Actually, that same seal is used up through '64 even without the tail-mounted brake. Factory P/N is 2205080. |

Location: So. Cal | When I look up that part number it gives me a different application for a 2500 Ram pickup & Jeep Wrangler transfer case from the early 2000's. When I look on Rockauto, it tells me the correct seal is a National or Timken 330663. But it also lists another seal for the rear that is SKF 15620. Surprisingly, the 15620 has almost the same dimensions as the SKF 15629, except a smaller OD by .002". The 330663 is a completely different size. So which one is the proper seal for a '58 Dodge Coronet? My car just started puking fluid on my driveway from the backend. |

Location: So. Cal | I measured the seal on my '57 Chrylser trans. It matches the size of the SKF seals. Assuming that the '58 trans is the same as the '57, that means the 330663 seal is for a different application. Very annoying that auto parts companies put parts in their databases that don't fit your car. |
