It has a fabric mesh holding it together that is very fragile and coming apart. I'm afraid it will disintegrate if I attempt to clean it with gas or lacquer thinner. Are they available NOS or otherwise?
Thanks,

| Do not use gas, way too flammable. The old timers soaked them in kerosene. But spray brake cleaner will work better and faster. I found a modern dry cartridge that would fit and got a 12" lid for my 56 Plym.
