Location: Plymouth Spaceport | What about a scariest Forward Look front end contest?
Cast your vote!,which Forward Look would you least like to run across in a dark alley?
Of course Christine is the number one choice, but my vote goes for the 1959 Dodge...it looks like it's been having a bad day ...or perhaps heard a disparaging clown comparison...and you'd best leave it alone!
It's also been said that children whose parents owned '59's used to check under the bed for custom royals at night!

Location: Victoria, BC, on Vancouver Island, Canada | This photo was taken in around January, 1976 - I had owned the Polara for about 15 months, was driving home one day when a guy backed out of his driveway in front of me. The headlight pot disintegrated as it was very rusty and had been given a quickie bondo job at some point before I bought the car. The chrome headlight door flew off and landed on the ground, undamaged. The insurance company looked after it all - the bumper got straightened and replated I got an NOS park light housing and lens, the stainless steel strip and panel above the bumper got straightened out and polished and is still on the car today. The fender was toast, and this was really the only serious rust on the car = both front fenders over the headlights. I managed to get two rust free fenders from Arizona. At the time, my sister-in-law's parents used to winter in Apache Junction and so I wrote him and asked him to see if he could find any fenders for me in area auto wreckers. He found good ones within a few days, and carried them on his roof rack back to BC for me, on top of a 1966 Meteor Montcalm four door hardtop. The insurance company paid for one of them plus paid my sister in law's father for carrying them here. The car is now owned by my good friend Ron Wenzel, bottom photo.
PS - the fenders were $35.00 each from the auto wrecker... which seems cheap even for 1976 standards.

Location: The Bat Cave, Fairborn, OH | Pity the person put such a tacky item on a cool 1957-8 Chrysler wagon. It looks like it was in pretty good shape otherwise. And what's the little running light on the left side about? Presumably there is an identical light on the right side that is not visible in the picture. I've never seen this light before on a wagon. Was that an option for Chrysler or something dreamed up by the customiser?

Location: Warren, Michigan | The picture (59 swamp plym.jpg) reminds me of how I found my car. But there wasn't any water, it was just thick, hardened in places mud. It was sunk down so I had to dig it out, put it on a block with a board under it and then change the tire to get it to roll. Damage wasn't as bad as it should have been, so I guess I was lucky.

Location: Montreal, Canada | Haha, yeah, it's in a sorry shape for sure. I gazed at it for a while trying to figure out how it could end up so badly twisted. I wonder if the structure of the airport limo could be part of the explanation.. It might have been "moved" in the yard by a bulldozer at some point too I guess.
The roof rack could still be used, though!

| And all those wannabe's think Christine is a scary movie. The airport limo from The Creature From Quebec ranks among the scariest imagery I've ever seen and, tonight, I'm sleeping with the lights on!
Seriously, a bunch of pimpley teens armed with flashlights (and an unsteady camera) stumble upon Le Monstre...

Might as well join my own 'party'.
These images were taken in the fall of '07 , after I had
attempted to back Horrie around a friend's circular
driveway, but only managed to drive him into a corner
of his protruding garage.
Fortunately, the garage fared better than did the car.
BTW, the King of Trim straightened-out the mooshed
side moldings to like-new condition (!), as the final
photo reveals.

It took you quite a while to get up the courage to post this one! - but we've all done things we'd rather not let anyone know about.
I backed my newly chromed rear bumper against a stationery object in April..... took me a month and nearly $600.00 to get it straightened, re-plated and back on the car. I got it back from the shop, the first time, in 2 weeks and when I bolted it on the plating started to peel around the bolts. I took it right back and the shop admitted it must not have been cleaned properly between the nickel and chrome plating steps. Another 2 weeks and I had it back again, that time it was fine. It's not the only rear bumper I've done that to..... I once backed my 1962 300 into a fire hydrant in a mall parking lot.

Location: bishop, ca | You, know---I don't think that I did make a Collision claim on this event, altho I do carry a $250.00 deductible
on that coverage!
How I felt, right afterward?
Numb & pissed, but I immediately looked at the challenge involved in getting him fixed (repaired); maybe that was why
I didn't make a claim for Horrie's repair---wanted to punish myself, properly.
But, MAN...all I was doing was backing-up (in the dark), and turning, in that circular driveway, in a manner that I thought
replicated the maneuver that I made in going into that driveway, in the daylight.
What was really intimidating, right afterward, was the fact that the car was precisely wedged into the corner of the garage, so
that he didn't want to go forward, or further backwards.
Ended up cranking the wheel full-left and scrunching-away from the garage.
Now, if the garage had significant damage, I would have made a claim, for it's repair, but it was basically un-damaged.

Location: bishop, ca | Ian, I also backed H. into a concrete filled steel parking post, a few years ago, and put a 'nice' dent into the middle
of the rear bumper.
This same body shop was able to pound-out the dent (good quality long-ago rechroming work) so that you can barely see
the outline of that impact impression, and the chrome surface is fine on the bumper.

This is what happens to our cars when we use them as drivers - but we have the satisfaction of driving them - they ain't trailer queens, and we're not afraid of things like this, we get back on our feet, get 'em repaired, and keep driving. The stationery object I backed the Saratoga into was the front bumper guard of a late model Chebby 3/4 ton pickup.... no damage at all to that one
