I don't know who David Marquez is, but I always enjoy charcoal or pencil illustrations and this one is very good with nice details, correct proportions, and excellent shading. Mr. Marquez must be a DeSoto fan... This looks like a Fireflite Sportsman coupe with bumper guards and fender ornaments.

Even the original
brochures were a little too squared or not quite right. Being one of my favorite aspects of the car, it is the first thing I
notice.

I like these much more than the hard edge computer generated stuff. As much as I appreciate the front ends of the '57 and '58 Chrysler line-up, the back ends are the true stars in those years. |

else is that nose .... and specifically, those "eyes". Only the 57 Chrysler comes close.
Drawings be what they may, .... if it were a sketch of your kid and the "artist" got the eyes wrong, ... it just wouldn't quit fly.

That is the essence of the difference between art and snapshot photography. I've taken quite a few photos of my wife, some good and some bad, and they all are accurate portrayals of her. But none even come close to approaching the depth of her being as Da Vinci did with his subject in the "Mona Lisa." That is why some things are art and some things are just pictures.
For just a sketch, Mr. Maquez did a creditable job and I would love to see what he could do with the Big-Tailed Beast.

And just think that some day your garage may be the Louvre, Musee d'Orsay, or National Gallery of '58 DeSotos! Keep your dauber up.
