Location: Iowa USA | I have been talking to the son of the Desoto Plymouth dealership owner in Hillsdale CA and he sent me some pictures that I thought you guys would enjoy? I should have more coming in the future. I am also trying to get more information to possibly do an article for the Desoto club paper.
He is the guy with the hot chick riding shotgun

Location: Iowa USA | I already asked and the mini Desoto is long gone, I hope he finds more pictures of it since I have one just like it. he said he used to drive it around the delaership parking lot.
Isn't that a fury just behind the people in front of the dealership (to the right)? |

Location: Iowa USA | Fury Juniors were made by the powercar company the Desoto's were not. I deal with a lot of powercar stuff and even own three of the factory molds.
Yes I have seen the forward look neon with and without forward look in block letters in the middle |

Location: Iowa USA | I recieved this and thought it was interesting
A quick history of the dealership, Jules Periat started " Western Auto tops and Body Works" in 1910. He invented the " california Top", the hard top for cars made out of wood, Studebaker stole it . Later he got Dodge trucks, then Plymouth, DeSoto and Chrysler. My grandfather Gaston Sr. took over in 1940. His brother , " Marcel Periat " was a mechanic, and worked at the Indy 500 from 1933 to 1985 as a mechanic, tech inspector. He invented the first movie camera mount for a race car that would shoot a clear picture, he had 30 other inventions, tires, engines. He would bring wrecked Indy cars to San Mateo and re work them in the off season. We had 92 employees in 1960. 6 tow trucks, body shop, etc. I've got hundreds of stories. When I have more time I'll look up more pics, I have many pictures and films.
Yes he said films! I will post to this thread when I hear any more. |
