Location: Iowa | Does anyone know what the two half-inch square holes are for in the center/middle part of the rear bumper on a 57 Belvedere?
Is something supposed to be mounted there...some accessory bling, or whatever? Can't seem to find any pics that actually show anything.....except a few that simply have chrome bolt heads showing.

Location: Big pimpin' | That lower skirt attaches with two bumper bolts to brackets that run underneath the rear of car..Sounds like yours is missing the bolts/ and or brackets..There are THREE bolts and nuts that attach the skirt to the bottom of the rear bumper so It would still stay there without the lower brackets even on it...

Location: Iowa | Yep, that's them alright....the two which are down in what seems to be a "lower" part of the bumper itself.
According to the post which follows yours, the fellow says that part is held in place by being bolted to brackets behind the bumper.....the holes being where the attaching bolts go.
Interesting, the piece is definitely attached and not about to come off on its own, but there are no brackets that I can see and obviously no bolts in the mounting holes.
Guess all I really need to do is find a couple chrome bumper bolts and at least make it LOOK like its bolted on, heh heh heh.
Ok, thanks a lot for the response. Got a lot of little what I call "Mickey Mouse" things that need to be addressed before the season starts when I can start getting serious about taking it out for a "cruise".
