"Cruise Against Cancer" with the Hard Times Street Rod Club

Cruise around for a good cause... Plus, take part in an "18-hour Cruise-In" with music, 50/50 ticket sales, and food!

Owners of antique and/or special interest collector vehicles are encouraged to participate. Motorcyclists are also welcome to take part in this event.

All proceeds benefit the Celebrate Life Cancer Support Group. These funds will be used to benefit local area cancer patients and cancer survivors.

While the Cruise-In itself is free of charge. Participants may also choose to take a one-hour drive around the cruise route in memory or honor of someone affected by cancer. Sponsorship fees totaling $100 per vehicle will be collected upon registration for this portion of the event. Checks must be made payable to "Celebrate Life". In addition to individual drivers, groups may also pool donations, designating one representative to drive one or more hours on behalf of their respective club or organization.

Registered cruise participants will follow a short, predetermined route - keeping drivers and their vehicles visible within the city limits during the cruise. Sagebrush Steakhouse will serve as the staging area for this event. The first vehicle will leave at 6AM, with other vehicles following every 15 minutes to one hour thereafter... The final vehicle will begin cruising at 11PM, for a midnight finish.

The first 50 pre-registered participants will receive a commemorative dash plaque and a goody bag. Participating vehicles will be identified with temporary, removable magnetic placards.

Time slots will be assigned according to a specific schedule... For instance, the first 18 registered participants will begin their cruise at the top of a specified hour. As more entries are received, bottom-of-the-hour slots will be filled next, followed by the quarter-past and quarter-til' time slots. Drive-up participants will be allowed to join the cruise on the day of the event.

Sagebrush Steakhouse will be serving discounted lunch and dinner plates during the event.
If necessary, roadside assistance will be provided courtesy of Newport Tire & Towing.
Motel 6 will offer a special rate of $31.99 (+ tax) for participants wishing to book a room for the event. Call (423) 623-1580 to reserve your room.

Gimme a call sometime or shoot me an email to let me know what you have in mind...
The easiest way to contribute would be to pony up a c-note and drive your Christine for an hour on the Cruise Route!

Thanks for your support!

This past weekend's Cruise Against Cancer was a tremendous success.
The weather was beautiful, the food was good, and the crowd was fantastic!

Altogether, we raised more than $8,400.00 for the Cancer Support Group.
Even with today's shabby economy, I'm humbled by the generosity of car people.

Special thanks to ForwardLook members Mike McKenna (My57Saratoga) , Donnie Taylor (58Donnie), and all who took part in this event.

We're thinking very seriously about making this a yearly event.

Sorry I couldn't make it. From what I can tell, you Tennessee guys really know how to do the cruise-in thing! You have NC beat, for sure.
