Last night in the chat room there was a lot of interest voiced for a FL Upper Mid-West Regional Get-Together for '08.

Lets start to banter ideas for a time and location.

Let the brainstorming begin.

My thought was: To find a Mopar event that was close enough that Rob and Lois( Red Ram) Canada, could easily drive to and also anyone eles interested. It would probably be a 3-4 day event with a 1-2 day Mopar show. I was thinking somewhere between St Louis and mid minnesota, maybe western Wisc. I think there are several of us that could attend something like that. Give us some input.................................MO

Hi Guys - We've been talking about the Shakopee Minn. show: "Mopars in the Park". Here's a gallery of this year's event: http://midwestmopars.com/Gallery/mip07?page=1 But did I hear it's outgrown the venue, and will be in a new spot in 2008? Accommodations might be hard to find. A lot of Manitoba Mopar club members go. I'll ask someone who went this year for info. when I talk to them again. - Rob..................That would be great, Clive. Except for the boat ride through Hudson's Bay and the right turns when we get there. :P

It sure would be great to see more FL at Mopars in the Park. When I was leaving the 2007 show I was told tha the new site would be the Dakota County fairgrounds in Farmington, MN. This show has grown dramatically in the last few years.

I would also vote for Western Wisconsin- what about the Dells? The WPC Club held their national meet there a few years ago.

This sounds interesting. Is there plenty of lodging at Farmington? Rob, how about it, is this something you could do?.................................MO

Farmington is 19 miles south of the MALL OF AMERICA. There are quite a few motels around there. I can check on what may be closer to Farmington, if no one else lives in that area.

I just wanted to throw out another suggestion:

http://www.chicagolandmopar.com/events/2007/WILLOWA/showflier2007.p...

If the time of year makes a difference to anyone this one
Mopars on the Mississippi has been the latter part of August
Mopars in the park in Minnesota has been the fist part of June
I see their dates for 2008 are May 31 - June 1.

I have attended -as a spectator- the one in MN several times and enjoyed it very much. and have tried with out success to attend the one in Dubuque, I will have to check my schedule for this year to maybe check it out.
Where ever we may have a get together I surely hope to be able to attend.

Whenever and wherever it is I'd vote in favor of having it in conjunction with a bigger WPC event, or a Mopar Nats type event. Id reverse engineer our get together by deciding who's party we'd like to crash and then check their calendar and attend that event. It takes the monkey off our backs for organizing, arranging lodging etc. Lets face it, we're not a real organization or a club.

Yes Bart, that is what I had in mind. So far "Mopars in the Park" Minn. and "Mopars on the Mississippi" Dubuque, Ia. has been mentioned. Any others that our friends from Canada could attend?..........................MO
Bart- just re read your post and maybe I mis-understood. you are talking about a BIG event like "back to the 50's" or Iola? My thought was a smaller show would be easier to park together, more time to socialize, and 15-20 FL cars together, would really stand out .

Note: I think the only way to park together at Back to the Fifties is to have everyone show up at the same time, very, very, very, very early- <5:00AM....

No options for saving spaces for friends that I know of.

That one would probably be well attended... Hey.. why aren't you guys informing me of these chat sessions? Everytime I log on no one is around.

Kinda neat to see, the date in rochester only 45 minutes from my house, otherwise I'm game for anywhere in MN/WI/IA
