Lee....I dug through my inventory of parts, and I have found the AC pulley setup I bought (also some time ago) to be able to put AC on my Adventurer. The crank pulley is a 4-groove unit, with the inside two being smaller than the outside two. The water pump pulley is a a two groove as well, and its diameter is approximately the same as the inner crank pulleys (~6 inches). The outside crank pulley diameters are about 7 3/4 inches. I also have a two groove idler pulley for the water pump. I have not mocked this up on my engine yet (still needs assembly), but looking at offsets, this fits with the 1955 setup. These parts came off of supposedly an early build DeSoto Fireflite 4-door. I have also seen a setup on one of the member's cars with the 3-groove crank pulley. Only one belt was used on the water pump in this application. So maybe both were correct? I will ask my model year co-ordinator on this, since I think he has an even "3rd" setup on his 1956 Fireflite (I seem to remember only a single belt for the AC compressor).
