Hi Jeff, The description you gave for adjusting the linkage is well worded, very descriptive and correct. I could do it myself, but doubt I could have described the procedure as well to someone else as you did. The problem is, Pete says his is missing altogether. I wouldn't drive this vehicle at all till he replaces it. I would advise him to do as you say to drop the pan for an inspection to see if there is any current damage and find the linkage. I'm not familiar with a truck application, but it occurs to me that a passenger car linkage with the same engine (and carb) and a torqueflite trans should work just as well. Herman
