Okay, for the sake of maintaining the peace, I will consider it possible that my 59 Plymouth (which I no longer have) had a clogged vent tube, thus, when I installed a modern non-vented cap, I caused the tank to collapse. So let this be a warning to you all, if you dont know the condition of your vent tube, you had better use a vented cap.
