I think that the PCV valve is not a guaranteed check valve. Although it would close on reverse vacuum, the seat in not made to be a total seal (never a requirement for a PCV valve). You might get lucky, but why not steal an inline screw-in unit off a fender-mounter vacuum reservoir tank and use that instead?
