I really didn't read too in depth as to what you guys are saying, but I found out the hard way on my 71 Skylark that an alternator off a '72 WONT WORK because of the internal regulator. The easiest way to tell is that the non-internal regualtor has a plug that looks like this: | | The internal regulator plug looks like this:=. You folks might already know that, but I would do what was already said and 'minority engineer' a lead from the non internal alternator to the regulator. Have you thought about replacing the headlight switch as well? I found out when I went to put my radio in that EVERYTHING seems to be wired through the H/D light switch. Hope that helps. Kelly
