One other otpion I was told is that AFTER I had my car restored and running I could have it inspected by the Hwy Patrol and they'd give it a new VIN # and title but it would forever be stamped REBUILT indicating that it had been in a wreck and totaled. Not what I wanted when the car only had 35,000 actual miles and only a few dents and dings from use as a field car.
