You have an old king pin system, which is always suspect, however you don't mention manual or power sterring. If you have adjusted the lash in the steering box to spec, look for shot idler arm (bushings go bad), king pin & bushings, and tie rod ends. Another thing to look at is your tires. The old bias ply's realy can follow the cracks and valleys on the highway. Look to put some modern radials on to calm things down a bit. Lastly, how is your alignment? Wrong caster or toe out on turns can really make for some hairy driving. Hope this helps a bit. Mike
