Years ago I built a '55 DeS Hemi in the '48 DeS 4 door Rod. I kept the dash mostly OM. Since room was VERY limited, (OM radio was as big as the front AC unit) I had to install a front AND rear (dual) AC unit to be able to cool that big of a cabin. I used 90 degree 4" PVC (sewer pipe)cut in half in the elbow to make a turned down look. Painted with plastic adheasion promoter, then the same color as the outside of the car. Got a small can of silver sign painters paint and then outlined where I cut them in half. Wish I could draw on this thing! I can show you better than I can tell you. ALL luxury vehicles of the 50's used some sorta' painted/clear, inside/outside vents.
