Why dont you just mount the coil to the firewall or the the inner fenderwell? It might not look factory, but i dont think it is possible to tap a hole into that intake to mount a coil. If you mount it to the firewall it will be mostly hidden by the gigantic air cleaners they used back then, so nobody will really notice, plus back there it will keep cooler, which is always a good thing.
