Kelly, The VW and Omni should have resembled each other. Ma Mopar was putting VW engine/transaxles in the early Omni/Horizon before they had their own sidewinder. Imagine my surprise when I opened the hood on my '79 Omni and saw the VW logo cast in the block! Later on I think some Peugoet (sp?) engines were used to cover production shortfall.
