I had a 318 poly vibration once, and the flex plate was cracked. It is possible to have 8 even compressions and still not have all of them firing.(plugs,leads, bent distributor shaft, worn dizzy bushes.) Is the exhaust touching the body. Believe it or not I've seen them break a crank, and still run. Then they vibrate!
