My 58 Plymouth didn't have a trans cooler when I bought it so I bought an aftermarket unit that came with rubber hoses for the lines. The hose was not standard water heater type hose. It was heavy duty renforced and wasn't cheap either. It cost about $100 for the hose alone but the advantage it it is easier to install, it flexes and can carry more fluid which helps keep the trans temp a lot lower.
