Hi, I had just the opposite problem on my 60 Desoto. Lights staying on after brake pedal released. Your car should be the same as mine. It has an electrical switch under the dash that touchs the brake pedal arm. You need to loosen the one bolt holding the bracket and move it slightly away from brake pedal so the switch releases as you first press the pedal. Hope this helps.
