I need some expert assistance here! The rear end in my 1958 Belvedere was run too low on fluid for too long before I took posession...now the bearings in the pumpkin sound shot (clunking when going from drive to reverse and 1st to 2nd (torqueflite). Is there any way to find out my gear ratio without taking the rear end apart and counting the cogs...is there a number stamped on the rear end housing somewhere? How about NOS replacement parts? I thought it was the u-joint, but once we had her up on the rack...it was obvious where the noise was coming from. Any assistance would really be appreciated! Thanks
