I did the same to my 59 Dodge before it was painted. The chrome doo-dads are supposed to point forward on both sides. (I have been variously told they are birds flying in a row, someone said they are a squadron of fighter jets (makes sense) flying in formation). Anyway, I just looked at some photos of other cars, put the doo-dad where I thought it should be, traced the 4 pins with penciled circles and then drilled away. Worked great !
