It is my understanding that 12" brakes were part of the police car package. Usually combined with the heavy duty suspension and larger engine sizes. If it isn't a station wagon and it has front anti-sway bar installed, this is further indication of law enforcement history. Not sure if the larger brakes were a standard option though, either.
