Hola; The engine is abile to breathe by drawing in air from the oil filler cap/tube and exhaling out the draft tube. The tube was placed in its location so that passengers would not breathe or smell the fumes, and any dripings would go to the ground. The last year for a MoPar with this system was 1962. Starting in 1963 the tube vent went to the carb to burn off any good stuff in the system. Rodger
